Grant the 30 day furlough

I know I have not jotted anything down for a while.  I really have been meaning to but everytime I sat down, I was only tempted to gripe about one thing or another ... and I really don't like to gripe.  At very least I do not see any point in turning this blog into a public complaint (there are all too many of those out there anyway).

That being said, I was watching The Oreilly Factor yesterday and saw an interview with Gregg Jarrett about a 10-year-old girl dying of brain tumors who's last wish was to see her father (who is in federal prison on drug charges) and the prison's warden denied him furlough.  This is one of the saddest things I have ever heard!  Even if the father is an absolute creep and a loser, maybe he is -- maybe he isn't, what is the benefit to society to punish the sick little girl.

I was unable to find a story on any of Bill Oreilly's sites, but did find a related article entitled A Dying Wish on kolnkgin.com.

Apparently the little girl had a stroke yesterday and does not have much longer to live.  What a tear jerker.

Goord lord. It seems like people get their life priorities all mixed up sometimes, doesn't it (myself included).
